Doitsu Utsuri Butterfly Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Doitsu Utsuri Butterfly Koi is a striking ornamental koi featuring bold black-and-white patterning with a mostly scale-less (Doitsu) body and long, flowing fins. Its unique appearance and graceful swimming make it a show-stopping addition to any pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, this koi is a Doitsu (scale-less) version of the traditional Utsurimono family, enhanced with butterfly fins for added elegance and movement.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily in warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish like goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, suitable for community ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though adequate pond size and filtration are essential.
