Electric Blue Hermit Soccer Crab Calcinus Elegans The Electric Blue Hermit Crab, scientifically known as Calcinus elegans, is a unique and vibrant species of hermit crab. Originating from the Indo-Pacific region, this crab is known for its striking blue coloration and active, inquisitive nature. In terms of feeding habits, the Electric Blue Hermit Crab is an omnivore, consuming a variety of algae, detritus, and small invertebrates in its natural habitat. When kept in an aquarium, it should be provided with a varied diet of high-quality commercial hermit crab food, as well as occasional supplements of fresh vegetables and protein sources.Regarding tank mates, the Electric Blue Hermit Crab is generally peaceful and can be kept with other peaceful, non-aggressive tank inhabitants, such as small fish, shrimp, and other hermit crab species. However, it is important to ensure that the tank size is adequate to accommodate the crab's active nature and provide sufficient hiding spots to reduce potential conflicts. The Electric Blue Hermit Crab is considered a moderately aggressive species, and its care requires a moderate level of experience. Proper water parameters, including a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025, a pH of 8.1-8.4, and a temperature range of 72-82°F, are essential for its optimal health and well-being.Above images for illustration purposes only.
