Evan’s Anthias – Pseudanthias evansi
Overview:
Evan’s Anthias is a vibrant and graceful marine fish, displaying a bright pink to reddish-orange body with subtle purple highlights. Highly active and social, it brings movement and striking color to mid-water zones in reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around coral reefs and drop-offs, including areas such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.
Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and other small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and suitable planktonic foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful reef fish. Compatible with other anthias, schooling mid-water fish, and reef-safe species.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups, displaying natural schooling behavior.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and regular feeding.
