Falcula Butterfly Fish – Chaetodon falcula
Overview:
Also known as the Saddleback Butterfly Fish, the Falcula Butterfly is admired for its distinct white body, bold black “saddle†markings, and yellow fins. Its elegant appearance makes it a striking addition to a large marine display.
Origin:
Native to the Indian Ocean and surrounding seas, often found in coral-rich lagoons and reefs.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — provide a varied diet of frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, algae-based foods, and high-quality pellets. May nip at corals and sessile invertebrates.
Tank Mates:
Best suited for peaceful to semi-aggressive community fish. Not recommended for reef aquariums due to coral nipping tendencies.
Aggression:
Generally peaceful, but can become territorial toward other butterflyfish.

Best for intermediate aquarists, as they require stable water conditions and a diverse diet.
