Flagfin Angelfish – Apolemichthys trimaculatus
Overview:
The Flagfin Angelfish is a vibrant and eye-catching species, featuring a brilliant yellow body, blue lips, and distinctive dark spots near the head. Its bright coloration and active nature make it a standout addition to large saltwater aquariums.
Origin:
Found throughout the Indo-Pacific region, from East Africa to the central Pacific.
Feeding:
Omnivorous — thrives on sponge-based angelfish diets, marine algae, spirulina, mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.
Tank Mates:
Best suited to peaceful to moderately aggressive species such as tangs, Wrasses, and butterflyfish. Avoid housing with other large angelfish unless in very spacious aquariums.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive — may show territorial behavior toward similar species.
Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists, requiring a mature, well-maintained system and a varied diet.
