Flowerhorn Cichlid – King Kamfa

Overview:
The King Kamfa Flowerhorn is one of the most iconic and sought-after strains, celebrated for its massive kok (nuchal hump), dense pearling, and bright red face contrasted with pearled white and metallic body patterns. Known as a true showpiece, the King Kamfa is highly prized by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

Origin:
Originated in Thailand and Vietnam through selective breeding of Kamfa strains, refined over decades for kok size, pearling density, and powerful body form.

Feeding:

• Staple: Premium Flowerhorn pellets for growth, kok development, and color intensity.

• Supplements: Frozen krill, shrimp, bloodworms, and spirulina for enhanced coloration and vitality.

• Routine: Feed 2–3 times daily in controlled portions.

Tank Mates:

• Best housed alone due to dominant territorial aggression.

• If attempted with others, ensure a very large, partitioned tank.

Aggression:
Extremely territorial; thrives as a solitary display fish.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to Advanced. Best suited for aquarists with prior cichlid or Flowerhorn experience.

• Temperature: 78–84°F (25–29°C)

• pH: 7.4–8.0

• Hardness: 8–20 dGH

• Minimum Tank Size: 75–100 gallons (single specimen)
