Origin: Hailing from the Tapajos River basin in Brazil, this species thrives in soft, slightly acidic to neutral waters. Their natural habitat is characterized by sandy substrates and densely vegetated areas, offering ample hiding spaces and foraging grounds. Feeding: Omnivorous by nature, the Orange Head Geophagus flourishes on a varied diet. High-quality cichlid pellets, frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp and bloodworms, and vegetable matter should be included to ensure optimal health and coloration.
