Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around coral reefs and rocky outcrops from Indonesia to northern Australia.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – feeds on small crustaceans, shrimp, and meaty marine foods. In captivity, offer frozen or live shrimp, small pieces of fish, and other prepared marine foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with larger, non-aggressive species. Avoid small fish and invertebrates that may be viewed as prey. Suitable for species-specific or carefully managed community tanks.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive/predatory – mostly peaceful with larger tank mates but may hunt smaller animals.
Experience Level:
Advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and secure rockwork.
