Gilded Catfish Zungaro Zungaro 10cm Originating from the Amazon basin in South America, the Gilded Catfish, also known as Zungaro Zungaro, is a stunning and robust species highly sought after by experienced aquarists. Its striking appearance, characterized by its golden hues and impressive size, makes it a captivating addition to large, well-maintained aquariums. Feeding: This carnivorous species thrives on a diet primarily consisting of live or frozen foods such as shrimp, mussels, and other meaty offerings. Providing a varied diet ensures optimal health and vitality. Tank Mates and Aggression: Due to its size and predatory nature, suitable tank mates for the Gilded Catfish are larger, robust fish that won't be seen as prey. Peaceful, non-aggressive species like large cichlids, larger characins, or other catfish of comparable size can make suitable companions. However, smaller or more timid fish should be avoided to prevent them from becoming potential meals. Experience Level: Keeping Gilded Catfish requires an experienced hand in aquarium husbandry. Their substantial size, specific dietary needs, and potential territorial behavior necessitate careful attention and knowledge of proper tank maintenance.
