Gold Court Jester Goby Koumansetta Hectori The Gold Court Jester Goby, scientifically known as Koumansetta hectori, is a small and attractive species of goby native to the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and western Pacific regions. These gobies typically inhabit sandy and rubbly bottoms in sheltered bays and inner reefs at depths up to 30 meters. In the aquarium, Gold Court Jester Gobies are generally peaceful and make good tank mates with other small, non-aggressive fish. They are known to help control hair algae by feeding on it in the wild. These gobies are relatively hardy and will accept a variety of fish foods, including pellets, flakes, and frozen/freeze-dried options. Captive-bred Gold Court Jester Gobies are recommended for intermediate to experienced aquarists, as they can be finicky eaters when wild-caught. They require a tank of at least 10 gallons with a sandy substrate and plenty of hiding places. The ideal water parameters include a pH of 8.1-8.4, temperature of 72-82°F, and specific gravity of 1.020-1.025.Above images for illustration purposes only. Exact colours, patterns, and size may vary between individuals.
