Gold Laser Corydoras SP CW010 3cm Catfish Overview: The Gold Laser Corydoras, scientifically known as Corydoras sp. CW010, is a small and captivating freshwater fish. It is renowned for its vibrant gold stripe running along its body, which contrasts beautifully against its darker, olive-green to blackish body color. Reaching up to 2.5 inches in size, these peaceful bottom-dwellers are perfect for community aquariums. Origin: Native to the clear water streams of South America, particularly in Peru, the Gold Laser Corydoras thrives in a habitat with a sandy substrate and plenty of hiding spots provided by rocks and driftwood. Feeding: These omnivorous scavengers are not fussy eaters. They readily accept a varied diet that includes high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp, and occasional vegetable matter. It's crucial to ensure food reaches the bottom of the tank for them to feed effectively. Tank Mates: Gold Laser Corydoras are social creatures that prefer the company of their own kind, so keeping them in groups of at least five is recommended. They coexist peacefully with other small, non-aggressive fish such as tetras, guppies, and rasboras. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive species. Aggression: These Corydoras are known for their peaceful and gregarious nature. They show no aggression towards tank mates and are more comfortable in the presence of conspecifics. Experience Level: Ideal for both novice and experienced aquarists, Gold Laser Corydoras are hardy and relatively easy to care for, making them a great choice for those new to fish keeping. Water Parameters: To ensure their health and well-being, maintain the following water parameters: a temperature range of 72-79°F (22-26°C), a pH between 6.0 and 7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. Regular water changes and a well-filtered tank are essential to keep the environment clean and stable.
