Gold Stripe Clownfish – Amphiprion biaculeatus
Overview:
The Gold Stripe Clownfish is a striking marine fish known for its rich reddish-brown body accented with vivid gold or yellow stripes along the fins and body. Hardy and visually appealing, it is an excellent choice for reef aquariums and hobbyists seeking a unique clownfish.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found in coral reefs and lagoons of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and northern Australia.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – thrives on a diet of high-quality pellets, flakes, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Regular feeding enhances coloration and overall health.
Tank Mates:
Generally peaceful, compatible with other non-aggressive reef fish. Can host in anemones, though it is not required for survival.
Aggression:
Mildly territorial, especially around a chosen host or defined area in the tank, but overall peaceful.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate aquarists – hardy, adaptable, and suitable for most community and reef aquariums.
