Golden Eyed Dwarf Cichlid Nannacara Anomala 3cm Overview: The Golden Eyed Dwarf Cichlid, scientifically known as Nannacara Anomala, is a captivating and colorful freshwater fish that adds a dash of elegance to any aquarium. With its vibrant hues and dynamic behavior, this small-sized cichlid is an excellent choice for aquarists looking to diversify their aquatic community. Typically reaching up to 3 inches in length, these dwarf cichlids are manageable and suitable for a variety of tank setups. Origin: Native to the slow-moving waters and floodplains of South America, particularly in regions stretching from Guyana to Suriname, the Golden Eyed Dwarf Cichlid thrives in environments that mimic their natural habitats. They prefer tanks with plenty of hiding spots, such as driftwood, rocks, and dense vegetation. Feeding: Nannacara Anomala are omnivores and have a flexible diet in the aquarium setting. A balanced diet for these fish should include high-quality cichlid pellets or flakes, as well as live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms to ensure optimal health and coloration. Tank Mates: Golden Eyed Dwarf Cichlids do well in a community tank with other peaceful fish of similar size. Suitable tank mates include tetras, rasboras, and other non-aggressive dwarf cichlids. Avoid housing them with large or overly aggressive species to prevent stress and possible harm. Aggression: While generally peaceful towards other species, they can exhibit territorial behavior, especially during breeding. Providing ample space and numerous hiding spots can minimize aggression and ensure a harmonious tank environment. Experience Level: These cichlids are a great choice for both novice and experienced aquarists. Their care requirements are straightforward, making them accessible for beginners, yet their engaging behaviors and breeding opportunities offer plenty of interest for more advanced hobbyists.
