Goonch Dwarf Sand Shark Catfish Bagarius Bagarius 20cm Overview: The Goonch Dwarf Sand Shark Catfish, scientifically known as Bagarius bagarius, is a striking freshwater fish prized for its unique appearance and intriguing behavior. With its streamlined body, distinctive markings, and active nature, this species adds allure to any aquarium. Origin: Originating from the rivers of Southeast Asia, specifically in the Ganges and Brahmaputra river basins, this species thrives in flowing waters and gravelly riverbeds. Feeding: A voracious carnivore, the Goonch Dwarf Sand Shark Catfish enjoys a varied diet consisting of live and frozen foods. Sinking pellets, shrimp, worms, and small fish make excellent choices to maintain their health and vibrancy. Tank Mates: Best kept with similarly sized or larger fish that can withstand their active nature. Compatible tank mates include larger barbs, loaches, and robust cichlids. Avoid pairing them with smaller or more passive species to prevent any potential aggression. Aggression: While not inherently aggressive, these catfish can become territorial, especially when establishing their space. Adequate hiding spots and space help reduce potential conflicts. Experience Level: Due to their size and specific requirements, intermediate to experienced aquarists are better suited to care for the Goonch Dwarf Sand Shark Catfish.
