Green Bubble Tip Anemone – Entacmaea quadricolor
Overview:
The Green Bubble Tip Anemone is a visually striking marine invertebrate, featuring a lush green coloration with characteristic bulbous tentacle tips. Its dynamic movement and vibrant color make it a standout centerpiece for marine aquariums, especially when hosting clownfish.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – accepts meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialized invertebrate diets. Photosynthetic symbionts may supplement nutrition under strong aquarium lighting.
Tank Mates:
Ideal with clownfish and other non-aggressive reef-safe fish. Avoid housing with fish or invertebrates that may nip at or disturb the anemone.
Aggression:
Moderately territorial – capable of stinging nearby corals and invertebrates with its nematocysts.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced aquarists – requires stable water conditions, strong lighting, and careful acclimation.
