Green Damsel – Neopomacentrus nemurus
Overview:
The Green Damsel is a hardy and active marine fish with a vivid green body that shimmers in reef lighting, adding lively color to aquariums. Compact and resilient, it is an excellent choice for beginner and experienced hobbyists alike.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, particularly coastal reefs and lagoons with ample coral and rocky cover.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – readily accepts flakes, pellets, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. A varied diet enhances coloration and vitality.
Tank Mates:
Best housed with semi-aggressive or similarly sized fish. Reef-safe with corals and invertebrates, but may defend its territory in smaller tanks.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – may show territorial behavior, particularly in confined spaces, but generally manageable in larger aquariums.
Experience Level:
Beginner-friendly, thanks to its durability and adaptability, though territorial tendencies should be considered when selecting tank mates.
