Green Eel Blenny – Congrogadus subducens

Overview:
The Green Eel Blenny is a unique and intriguing marine fish, featuring an elongated eel-like body with a greenish hue and subtle markings. Known for its secretive behavior and nocturnal activity, it adds fascinating movement and personality to large reef and community aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, including northern Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.

Feeding:
Carnivorous — feeds on live or frozen meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, small crustaceans, and chopped seafood.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful to moderately aggressive fish. Avoid very small fish, as the Green Eel Blenny may view them as prey.

Aggression:
Generally shy, but can be predatory toward very small tank mates.

Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists, due to its size, dietary needs, and secretive habits.

• Temperature: 74–80°F (23–27°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 75+ gallons
