Green Rock Flower Anemone – Epicystis crucifer
Overview:
The Green Rock Flower Anemone is a hardy and colorful anemone, showcasing vivid green tentacles with a radiant, flower-like display. Its compact size and striking patterns make it a standout addition to reef aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific and Caribbean regions, often found attached to rocks and sandy reef crevices.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and other meaty marine foods, while also benefiting from photosynthesis under strong reef lighting.
Tank Mates:
Best housed with peaceful reef-safe fish and invertebrates. Clownfish may occasionally host in them, but this is not guaranteed.
Aggression:
Moderately territorial – capable of stinging nearby corals or anemones, so provide space.
Experience Level:
Intermediate aquarists – requires a stable, mature system with proper lighting and moderate water flow.
