Griffis Angelfish – Apolemichthys griffisi

Overview:
The Griffis Angelfish is a rare and highly sought-after species, admired for its bold black-and-white horizontal stripes accented with soft yellow highlights. With its unique pattern and graceful presence, it makes a striking centerpiece in large saltwater aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Central and Western Pacific Ocean, including regions around Micronesia and Palau.

Feeding:
Omnivorous — thrives on sponge-based angelfish formulas, marine algae, spirulina, mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful to moderately aggressive species such as tangs, Wrasses, and anthias. Avoid housing with other large angelfish unless in very spacious systems.

Aggression:
Semi-aggressive — generally peaceful but may show territorial behavior toward similar-shaped fish.

Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarists, requiring a stable, mature marine environment and a varied diet.

• Temperature: 74–82°F (23–28°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 150+ gallons
