Hi Fin Nano Goby – Discordipinna griessingeri

Overview:
The Hi Fin Nano Goby is a tiny, reef-dwelling goby celebrated for its elongated dorsal fin and delicate body, often perching gracefully on coral or rock crevices. Its unique silhouette and subtle coloration make it a standout in nano and reef aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found in coral-rich lagoon and reef environments, where it prefers to stay close to shelter.

Feeding:
Carnivorous – feeds on small invertebrates, plankton, and micro-crustaceans. In aquariums, it readily accepts frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality micro-pellets. Multiple small feedings per day are ideal.

Tank Mates:
Peaceful and reef-safe, suitable for nano and larger reef setups with other small, non-aggressive fish. Avoid large or aggressive species that may outcompete or stress it.

Aggression:
Low. Non-territorial and generally peaceful, though it may hover close to its preferred perch.

Experience Level:
Intermediate. Requires a well-established reef tank with live coral or rock for perching and protection.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 74–78°F (23–26°C)

  • pH: 8.1–8.4

  • Salinity: 1.020–1.025

  • Minimum Tank Size: 10 gallons

The Hi Fin Nano Goby (Discordipinna griessingeri) is a peaceful, visually striking micro-goby, perfect for nano reefs and larger coral tanks, adding movement, elegance, and natural reef behavior.
