Overview:
The Hi Utsuri Butterfly Japanese Koi is a striking ornamental koi featuring a bold black body accented with vibrant red markings, complemented by long, flowing butterfly fins. Its dramatic color contrast and graceful movement make it a captivating centerpiece in any premium pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Hi Utsuri is a variant of the Utsurimono line, prized for its vivid red-on-black pattern and elegant form. The butterfly-fin version enhances its beauty with flowing, expressive fins.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, making it ideal for mixed koi ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though maintaining optimal water quality and sufficient pond space is essential for vibrant coloration and long-term health.
