Corydoras Eques 4cm Catfish Overview: The Corydoras Eques, also known as the Horseman's Cory, is a captivating and peaceful freshwater fish. This small, armored catfish is known for its unique patterns and sociable nature, making it a charming addition to any community aquarium. Origin: Native to the soft, acidic waters of South America, particularly in regions of Peru and Brazil, the Corydoras Eques thrives in environments that replicate their natural habitat. Feeding: These omnivores enjoy a varied diet consisting of high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, and occasional treats like frozen or live daphnia, bloodworms, and brine shrimp. Regular feeding will ensure their health and vibrancy. Tank Mates: Corydoras Eques are peaceful and do best with similarly tempered fish. Ideal tank mates include small, non-aggressive species such as tetras, guppies, and other small catfish. They enjoy the company of their own kind, so keeping them in groups of at least 5-6 will encourage natural behavior and reduce stress. Aggression: These fish are known for their peaceful and non-aggressive demeanor. They are more likely to be victims of aggression from other fish rather than instigators. Experience Level: Suitable for both beginners and experienced aquarists, Corydoras Eques are hardy and relatively easy to care for, provided their basic needs are met. Water Parameters: The ideal aquarium conditions include a temperature range of 72-79°F (22-26°C), pH levels between 6.0 and 7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. A well-filtered tank with plenty of hiding spots and a soft, sandy substrate is recommended to protect their delicate barbels.
