Kin Ki Utsuri Butterfly Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Kin Ki Utsuri Butterfly Koi is a striking ornamental koi with shimmering gold-and-black patterning and long, flowing fins. Its metallic hues and elegant swimming style make it a visually captivating addition to any pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Kin Ki Utsuri is part of the traditional Utsurimono family, with metallic coloration and butterfly fins introduced through selective breeding for enhanced beauty.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality koi pellets as a staple diet, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish like goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for community ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, but requires adequate pond size and good filtration for optimal health.

• pH: 6.5–8.5

• Water Type: Freshwater

• Minimum Pond Size: 1,000+ gallons recommended
