Overview:
The Kin Kikokuryu Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking ornamental koi featuring a metallic golden body with bold black patterning, enhanced by long, flowing butterfly fins. Its shimmering scales and elegant movement make it a premium, eye-catching addition to any pond.
Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Kin Kikokuryu is a metallic variant of the Kikokuryu line, prized for dramatic color contrast and reflective scales. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for superior color intensity, balance, and refined finnage.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though maintaining optimal water quality and sufficient pond space is essential for preserving Grade A condition.
