Kissing Gourami Helostoma Temminckii 5cm The Kissing Gourami, scientifically known as Helostoma temminckii, is a charming freshwater fish originating from Southeast Asia. Renowned for their distinctive "kissing" behavior, these gouramis are peaceful and sociable, making them a delightful addition to community tanks. Feeding these gouramis is a breeze as they readily accept various foods like flakes, pellets, and live or frozen treats. They thrive on a diet comprising both vegetation and protein-rich foods. When considering tank mates, choose companions that share their peaceful demeanor. Avoid pairing them with fin nippers or aggressive species to maintain their serenity. These gouramis are generally non-aggressive but can display territorial behavior during mating periods. Their care requirements are moderate, suitable for aquarists with some prior experience in maintaining freshwater setups. A spacious tank with ample vegetation and hiding spots replicates their natural habitat, encouraging their well-being. Maintain water parameters within a range of 72-82°F (22-28°C) with a pH level of 6.8-7.8 and moderate water flow.
