This medium-sized pleco reaches up to about 10 inches in length, making it a noticeable addition to any freshwater aquarium. Origin: Native to the fast-flowing, clear waters of the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela, the Galaxy Pleco thrives in environments with strong currents and plenty of hiding spaces. Their natural habitat influences their care requirements in home aquariums, emphasizing the need for clean, well-oxygenated water. Feeding: Primarily carnivorous, the Galaxy Pleco's diet should consist of a variety of high-quality protein sources. This includes frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and krill, supplemented with occasional vegetable offerings. Prepared sinking pellets and wafers formulated for carnivorous species are also excellent for ensuring a balanced diet.
