L264 Sultan Pleco Leporacanthicus Joselimai Overview: The L264 Sultan Pleco is a strikingly beautiful and unique species in the aquarium hobby. Known for its dark body adorned with stunning white to yellow spots, this nocturnal fish adds a touch of elegance to any tank. It can grow up to 10 inches in length, making it a medium-sized specimen among plecos. Origin: Native to the fast-flowing, clear waters of the Rio Tapajós basin in Brazil, the L264 Sultan Pleco is accustomed to environments with plenty of hiding spots and strong water flow. Feeding: Primarily carnivorous, the L264 requires a diet rich in protein. Offer a variety of foods including frozen or live bloodworms, brine shrimp, and high-quality sinking pellets or wafers formulated for carnivorous species. Occasional vegetable supplements can be included to ensure a balanced diet. Tank Mates: Ideal tank mates include other peaceful to semi-aggressive fish that thrive in similar water conditions. Avoid keeping with very small fish or those with long, flowing fins, as they might be mistaken for food or harassed. Good companions include larger tetras, rasboras, and other plecos that do not compete aggressively for territory. Aggression: The L264 Sultan Pleco is relatively peaceful but can be territorial with other bottom-dwellers, especially of the same species or similar-looking plecos.
