Lamark Angelfish Genicanthus Lamarck Overview: The Lamarck Angelfish, known scientifically as Genicanthus lamarck, is a stunning addition to any marine aquarium. Esteemed for its graceful swimming and distinctive coloration, this species showcases a blend of pearly white and deep blue hues, with males and females exhibiting slight differences in pattern. Males feature a striking black band that spans from the edge of the gill cover to the tail, which is absent in females. Origin: This species is native to the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. They are commonly found at depths ranging from shallow reefs to deeper slopes, showcasing their adaptability to different marine environments. Feeding: Lamarck Angelfish are omnivores with a preference for a varied diet. In the aquarium, they thrive on a mix of meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp and finely chopped seafood, along with high-quality marine algae and spirulina. Regular feeding of both plant and animal-based foods ensures their nutritional needs are met, promoting vibrant color and health. Tank Mates: Due to their peaceful nature, Lamarck Angelfish can coexist with a wide range of tank mates. Suitable companions include other peaceful fish species, such as clownfish, chromis, and certain types of gobies and blennies. However, it's advisable to avoid housing them with aggressive species or those that have a tendency to nip at fins.
