Lemon Fin Diamond Shark Hypsibarbus Wetmorei 8cm Overview: The Lemon Fin Diamond Shark, also known as Hypsibarbus Wetmorei, is an eye-catching freshwater fish characterized by its vibrant lemon-yellow fins and a sleek silver body. Originating from Southeast Asia, this species adds a stunning pop of color to any aquarium with its active and engaging nature. Origin: Native to rivers and streams in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, these fish thrive in well-oxygenated waters with moderate to fast-flowing currents. Their natural habitat includes rocky areas and dense vegetation. Feeding: These omnivorous fish eagerly consume a varied diet. They enjoy high-quality flake foods, sinking pellets, and live or frozen treats such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. Offering a mix of plant matter and protein-rich foods ensures their optimal health and coloration. Tank Mates: Lemon Fin Diamond Sharks are generally peaceful but can display territorial behavior, especially as they mature. They can cohabit with similarly sized, non-aggressive species like medium-sized barbs, danios, loaches, and larger tetras. Avoid keeping them with fin-nipping or aggressive tank mates. Aggression: While not excessively aggressive, these fish can assert dominance and defend their territory. Providing ample space and suitable hiding spots helps mitigate any territorial disputes. Experience Level: Suitable for intermediate to experienced aquarists, Lemon Fin Diamond Sharks require a moderately sized tank with good water quality. Their territorial tendencies and specific dietary needs benefit from a keeper's prior knowledge and attention. Water Parameters: Maintaining stable water conditions is crucial. Aim for a pH range of 6.5-7.5, water temperature between 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C), and moderate hardness between 5-15 dGH.
