Green Dragon Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.) Overview: The Green Dragon Bristlenose Pleco is a striking and rare variant of the Bristlenose Pleco, prized for its elongated fins and vibrant green coloration. Its peaceful nature and algae-eating abilities make it an excellent addition to many freshwater aquariums. Origin: Native to South American rivers and streams, these plecos thrive in environments with plenty of driftwood and hiding spots. Feeding: Primarily herbivorous, they feed on algae, sinking pellets, and occasional fresh vegetables like zucchini or cucumber. Supplement with protein-based foods occasionally. Tank Mates: They are compatible with most peaceful species such as tetras, guppies, and other non-aggressive fish. Avoid housing them with large, aggressive species. Aggression: Typically very peaceful, but males may exhibit mild territorial behavior toward other bottom-dwellers, especially during breeding. Experience Level: Suitable for beginners due to their hardy nature and easy care requirements. Water Parameters: Temperature: 72-82°F (22-28°C) pH: 6.5-7.5 Hardness: 6-10 dGH This pleco is an easygoing and visually stunning addition to any freshwater tank!Above images for illustration purposes only.
