Marbled Achara Catfish Leiarius Marmoratus 10cm The Marbled Achara Catfish, also known as Leiarius marmoratus, is a striking freshwater species highly sought after by experienced aquarists. Originating from South America, specifically the Amazon and Orinoco river basins, these catfish boast a visually captivating marbled pattern, making them an eye-catching addition to any large aquarium. Overview: With a sleek and elongated body, these catfish can grow quite large, reaching sizes of over 24 inches (60 cm). Their nocturnal nature often leads them to be more active during the evenings, displaying their graceful movements as they explore their environment. Feeding: These carnivorous fish thrive on a diet of live or frozen foods such as earthworms, shrimp, and small fish. Offering a varied diet ensures their nutritional needs are met. Tank Mates: Best suited for spacious tanks with peaceful tank mates of similar size. Avoid housing them with small fish that might be viewed as potential prey due to their predatory instincts. Aggression: While generally peaceful, larger individuals can display territorial behavior. Ensure adequate space and hiding spots to mitigate potential conflicts.
