Melanesia Keyhole Dwarf Angelfish – Centropyge tibicen
Overview:
The Melanesia Keyhole Dwarf Angelfish, also known as the Keyhole Angel, is easily recognized by its deep blue-black body and the distinctive white oval "keyhole" marking on its side. Its bold contrast and graceful swimming make it a standout in any marine display.
Origin:
Found in the Melanesian region of the Western Pacific, inhabiting lagoons and reef slopes rich in coral and rocky structures.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – thrives on a varied diet of marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and high-quality angelfish pellets. Supplement with algae sheets for best health.
Tank Mates:
Compatible with peaceful to semi-aggressive fish, but may show territorial behavior toward other dwarf angelfish. Caution is advised in reef tanks, as they may nip at LPS corals, clams, and some soft corals.
Aggression:
Semi-aggressive – generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially in smaller aquariums.
Experience Level:
Intermediate – hardy once established, but requires a stable environment.
Water Parameters:
-

-
