Midnight Catfish Auchenipterichthys Coracoideus 10cm Overview: The Midnight Catfish, scientifically known as Auchenipterichthys coracoideus, is a strikingly beautiful and nocturnal species originating from the freshwater rivers of South America. Recognized for its sleek, black body adorned with intricate patterns resembling stars, it's a captivating addition to any aquarium. Origin: Native to the Amazon basin, these catfish thrive in slow-moving waters amidst dense vegetation. Their natural habitat often consists of dark, leaf-littered bottoms and submerged roots. Feeding: Primarily carnivorous, the Midnight Catfish appreciates a diet rich in live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and high-quality sinking pellets. They may also nibble on algae wafers. Tank Mates: Compatible with peaceful tank companions such as other catfish species, tetras, rasboras, and non-aggressive cichlids. Ensure tank mates are not small enough to be seen as prey. Aggression Level: Known for their peaceful demeanor, Midnight Catfish are non-aggressive and tend to be shy, preferring to hide during daylight hours.
