Mosaic Starfish (Iconaster longimanus)

Overview:
The Mosaic Starfish is a visually striking reef-safe starfish with long, slender arms patterned in intricate mosaic-like designs. Its unique appearance and peaceful nature make it a captivating addition to established marine aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found on coral reefs and rocky substrates.

Feeding:
Feeds primarily on biofilm, detritus, and microalgae. In aquariums with limited natural food, supplemental feeding with finely chopped seafood or algae-based diets may be beneficial.

Tank Mates:
Reef-safe and compatible with fish, corals, and most invertebrates. Avoid housing with predatory fish that may nip at starfish arms.

Aggression:
Completely peaceful.

Experience Level:
Intermediate. Requires a mature, stable aquarium with plenty of live rock or substrate for grazing. Sensitive to sudden changes in water chemistry.

• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–25.5°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.023–1.025

• dKH: 8–12
