Spotted Chalk Mural Goby Valenciennea Muralis The Spotted Chalk Mural Goby, Valenciennea muralis, is a small, peaceful fish native to the Indo-Pacific region. It has a distinctive mottled brown and white coloration that resembles chalk, hence its common name. This goby is an omnivore, feeding on a variety of small invertebrates and algae in the aquarium. It is generally considered a good community fish, as it is not overly aggressive and can be kept with other peaceful species. However, it may become territorial towards other gobies or small shrimp. The Spotted Chalk Mural Goby requires a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding places, such as live rock or caves. It prefers a tank size of at least 30 gallons with a fine sand substrate. The water parameters should be maintained at a temperature of 72-82°F, pH of 8.1-8.4, and a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. This fish is recommended for intermediate to advanced aquarium hobbyists, as it can be sensitive to water quality and may require more specialized care compared to some other gobies. With the proper setup and care, the Spotted Chalk Mural Goby can be a beautiful and interesting addition to a reef or marine aquarium.Above images for illustration purposes only.
