Neolamprologus Mustax Tanganyikan African Cichlids 3cm "Originating from the rocky shores of Lake Tanganyika in East Africa, the Neolamprologus Mustax Cichlid showcases stunning iridescent hues and unique markings. This species prefers a habitat with plenty of rock formations, mimicking its natural environment. Feeding these cichlids involves a varied diet including high-quality pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp or bloodworms. They also relish in picking at algae and small invertebrates in the tank. These cichlids, while beautiful, can be assertive. Careful selection of tank mates is crucial, favoring species of similar size and temperament. Avoid housing them with overly passive fish or those with long, flowing fins, as the Mustax Cichlid might perceive them as targets for aggression. Their territorial behavior demands a well-structured tank with plenty of hiding spots and caves. Experienced aquarists familiar with cichlid behavior will find joy in caring for and observing these fascinating creatures. Maintaining stable water conditions is vital. They thrive in water with pH levels ranging between 7.8 to 9.0 and a temperature around 75-80°F (24-27°C).
