What are Ocean Nutrition Coral Pellets?

Ocean Nutrition Coral Pellets make feeding your corals so much easier and more efficient. Their soft, semi-moist structure ensures optimal acceptance and digestion. They’re also packed with selected ingredients to trigger feeding responses in your corals.

These pellets come in two sizes. The small pellet (~2.5mm) is suitable for Ricordea and small LPS corals, such as Acanthastrea, Blastomussa, and more. They contain fresh planktonic prey items like copepods. The large pellet (~6mm) is suitable for large LPS corals like Scolymia, Lobophyllia, Trachyphyllia etc. They contain larger planktonic prey items like krill.

How do I feed Ocean Nutrition Coral Pellets?

Step 1: Feed your fish first. This will prevent fish from stealing pellets from your coral.

Step 2: Turn off any wave pumps. This will prevent the pellets from being blown out of your coral.

Step 3: Large pellets can be fed with tweezers, while small pellets can be fed with a pipette. To do this, fill a small bowl with aquarium water, put the small pellets in the bowl and suck them up with the pipette.

Step 4: Gently present the pellets near the coral’s mouth(s). Do not force feed your corals. Slowly release the pellets a few millimetres above the coral’s mouth(s).

Step 5: Your corals will slowly begin to extract their tentacles, open their mouth(s), and begin to engulf the pellets.

Step 6: Once the pellets have been fully absorbed you can turn your wave pumps back on.

Feed your corals one to two times a week for optimal growth and health. To avoid overfeeding, feed a maximum of 30% of the polyps in a coral colony. Store pellets at room temperature. After opening, it is advised to store in the fridge (4-6°C) for prolonged preservation. Also, keep packaging away from moisture to ensure freshness.
