Ogon Butterfly Grade A Koi Carp (Cyprinus carpio)

Overview:
The Ogon Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking ornamental koi with a solid, metallic body in shades of gold, platinum, or silver, complemented by long, flowing butterfly fins. Its shimmering, uniform coloration and elegant movement make it a premium centerpiece in any pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Ogon variety is prized for its metallic sheen and clean, uniform coloration. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for superior color clarity, balance, and refined finnage.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, though optimal water quality, filtration, and adequate pond space are essential to maintain Grade A condition.

• Temperature: 10–25°C (50–77°F)

• pH: 6.5–8.5

• Water Type: Freshwater

• Minimum Pond Size: 1,000+ gallons recommended
