Orange Finger Starfish (Echinaster sepositus)

Overview:
The Orange Finger Starfish is a vibrant and eye-catching echinoderm with bright orange, slender arms that resemble fingers. Reef-safe and peaceful, it adds both color and gentle activity to marine aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Mediterranean Sea and eastern Atlantic, often found on rocky reefs and sandy substrates.

Feeding:
Feeds on detritus, biofilm, and microalgae. Supplemental feeding with finely chopped seafood or algae-based diets can be offered if natural grazing is insufficient.

Tank Mates:
Reef-safe. Compatible with peaceful fish, corals, and most invertebrates. Avoid predatory species that may nip at starfish arms.

Aggression:
Completely peaceful.

Experience Level:
Intermediate. Requires a mature aquarium with stable water conditions and plenty of live rock or substrate for grazing. Sensitive to sudden changes in water chemistry.

• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–25.5°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.023–1.025

• dKH: 8–12
