Orange Spot Anthias – Odontanthias borbonius
Overview:
The Orange Spot Anthias is a striking marine fish with a bright pink to orange body adorned with vivid orange spots, creating a stunning display in mid-water reef zones. Active and social, it adds movement and vibrant color to your aquarium.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, commonly found around deep coral reefs and rocky drop-offs, including areas such as Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and other small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other suitable planktonic foods.
Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful reef fish. Compatible with other anthias, schooling mid-water fish, and reef-safe species.
Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups, exhibiting natural schooling behavior.
Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and frequent feedings.
