Pacific Fire Red Clownfish – Amphiprion melanopus
Overview:
The Pacific Fire Red Clownfish is a vibrant and striking marine fish, featuring a deep red-orange body with bold white or light markings on the head and midsection. Known for its hardy nature and active behavior, it is a popular choice for reef aquariums and clownfish enthusiasts alike.
Origin:
Native to the Western Pacific, commonly found around Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and the Great Barrier Reef, inhabiting coral reefs and lagoons.
Feeding:
Omnivorous – thrives on high-quality pellets, flakes, frozen mysis, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. A varied diet enhances coloration and overall health.
Tank Mates:
Peaceful and reef-safe, compatible with other non-aggressive fish. Can form symbiotic relationships with anemones, though they are not required for survival.
Aggression:
Generally peaceful, though may exhibit mild territorial behavior around a host anemone or chosen area in the tank.
Experience Level:
Beginner to intermediate aquarists – hardy, adaptable, and easy to care for in stable reef aquariums.
