Overview

The Paskai Rainbow Fish is a small, colorful freshwater species prized for its shimmering blue and silver body with subtle red accents. Active and schooling in nature, it adds lively movement and delicate beauty to community aquariums.

Origin

Native to Papua, Indonesia, inhabiting small, slow-flowing streams, rivers, and tributaries with dense aquatic vegetation and calm waters.

Feeding

Omnivorous and easy to feed. Thrives on:

• High-quality micro flakes or fine pellets

• Live or frozen foods such as daphnia, brine shrimp, and micro worms

• Occasional finely chopped vegetables or algae-based foods

Tank Mates

Peaceful schooling fish best kept in groups of 6 or more. Compatible with:

• Other small rainbowfish

• Tetras, danios, and rasboras

• Corydoras and other gentle bottom dwellers

Avoid: Larger, aggressive, or fin-nipping species.

Aggression

Very low. Peaceful and social, ideal for community setups.

Experience Level

Beginner to intermediate. Hardy and adaptable, suitable for well-maintained tropical freshwater aquariums.

Water Parameters

• Temperature: 72–79°F (22–26°C)

• pH: 6.5–7.5

• Hardness: 5–12 dGH

• Notes: Provide plenty of plants and open swimming areas. Regular water changes promote health and enhance natural coloration.
