Pictilis Anthias – Pseudanthias pictilis

Overview:
The Pictilis Anthias is a vibrant and elegant marine fish, featuring bright orange to pink coloration with subtle purple highlights. Its active schooling behavior adds dynamic movement and vivid color to mid-water levels of reef aquariums.

Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific region, typically found around deep coral reefs and drop-offs, including areas such as Indonesia, the Philippines, and Papua New Guinea.

Feeding:
Planktivorous – feeds on zooplankton and other small live or frozen foods. In captivity, provide frequent feedings of mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other suitable planktonic foods.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with peaceful community fish. Ideal companions include other anthias, reef-safe species, and schooling mid-water fish.

Aggression:
Non-aggressive – thrives in groups of 6 or more, displaying natural schooling behavior.

Experience Level:
Intermediate to advanced – requires a well-established aquarium with stable water parameters and consistent feeding.

Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C)

• pH: 8.1–8.4

• Salinity: 1.020–1.025

• Minimum Tank Size: 75+ gallons
