Pink Condylactis Anemone – Condylactis gigantea
Overview:
The Pink Condylactis Anemone is a vibrant and hardy species, showcasing a soft pink or lavender coloration with long, flowing tentacles. Its striking appearance and relatively robust nature make it a popular choice for marine aquariums and clownfish hosts.
Origin:
Native to the Western Atlantic and Caribbean, commonly found in shallow reefs and sandy substrates.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialized invertebrate preparations. Strong lighting supports photosynthetic symbionts, supplementing its nutrition.
Tank Mates:
Compatible with clownfish and other non-aggressive reef-safe fish. Avoid housing with fish or invertebrates that may nip at or disturb the anemone.
Aggression:
Moderately territorial – capable of stinging nearby corals and invertebrates with its nematocysts.
Experience Level:
Intermediate aquarists – requires stable water conditions, proper lighting, and careful acclimation.
