Wild ancestors of this variety are adept at navigating both water and marginal land areas in search of food. Feeding: Carnivorous by nature, Platinum Senegal Bichirs thrive on a diet rich in meaty foods. Offer a variety of foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, small fish, and quality pellet foods designed for carnivorous species. Frequent feedings in smaller amounts are recommended to mimic natural feeding habits. Tank Mates: Due to their predatory nature, choose tank mates carefully. Ideal companions include larger fish species that are not small enough to be considered prey. Avoid housing with very small or docile fish. Compatible tank mates can include certain cichlids, larger tetras, and catfish that share similar water parameter requirements.
