Pseudotropheus Acei White Tail Malawi African Cichlid Overview: The Pseudotropheus Acei White Tail is a stunning freshwater fish highly sought after for its striking appearance and peaceful demeanor. Originating from the rocky shores of Lake Malawi, this cichlid boasts vibrant blue and yellow hues, with distinct white tail markings. Origin: Hailing from Lake Malawi in East Africa, this species thrives in rocky habitats along the lake's shores, adapting to varying water conditions. Feeding: These cichlids are omnivorous, relishing a diet comprising high-quality flakes or pellets supplemented with occasional treats like spirulina, small crustaceans, and vegetable matter. Tank Mates: Known for their peaceful nature, Acei White Tails coexist well with other non-aggressive cichlids such as some Aulonocara species, peaceful mbuna, and synodontis catfish. Ensure similar size and temperament when selecting tank mates. Aggression: Compared to many other Malawi cichlids, the Acei White Tail tends to exhibit minimal aggression, making it suitable for community tanks. However, like all cichlids, territorial behavior may arise, especially during breeding. Experience Level: Ideal for aquarists with moderate experience, these cichlids are relatively hardy and adaptable but benefit from owners familiar with cichlid behavior and care. Water Parameters: Maintain a pH range of 7.5 to 8.5, temperature between 76-82°F (24-28°C), and a water hardness of 10-20 dGH to replicate their natural habitat.
