With a moderate size of around 4-5 inches, these active fish thrive in larger aquariums of at least 50 gallons with ample hiding spots among rocks and caves to mimic their natural habitat. Feeding these cichlids is a breeze as they readily accept high-quality cichlid pellets and flakes. Supplementing their diet with occasional treats like brine shrimp or spirulina flakes ensures their optimal health and coloration. Known for their assertive nature, it's recommended to house Pseudotropheus Flavus with other Lake Malawi cichlids of similar size and temperament. Avoid mixing them with more docile or smaller species to prevent potential aggression and territorial disputes. Their territorial behavior and occasional aggression towards conspecifics (same species) and other tank mates make them more suitable for intermediate to experienced aquarists familiar with managing cichlid aggression.
