Overview:
The Purple Lyre Tail Grouper is a striking predatory fish, distinguished by its deep purple body and elegant lyre-shaped tail. Its bold coloration and predatory nature make it a show-stopping addition to large marine aquariums.
Origin:
Native to the Indo-Pacific, commonly found around coral reefs in the Red Sea, East Africa, and the Western Pacific.
Feeding:
Carnivorous – thrives on meaty foods such as shrimp, fish, squid, and other protein-rich marine preparations. A varied diet ensures vibrant coloration and optimal health.
Tank Mates:
Best housed with large, robust fish. Avoid small fish and invertebrates, as they may be eaten.
Aggression:
Territorial and predatory – needs plenty of space and rockwork for hiding and hunting.
Experience Level:
Advanced aquarists – suitable only for large, mature aquariums with experienced management of predatory species.
