Rainbow Crab Cardisoma Armatum 8cm Overview: The Rainbow Crab, also known as the Patriot Crab, is a strikingly colorful terrestrial crab known for its vibrant blue to purple carapace and bright orange to red legs. This eye-catching crustacean can reach up to 4 inches in size, making it a standout addition to any aquarium or terrarium setup. Origin: Native to the mangroves and estuaries of West Africa, these semi-aquatic crabs are accustomed to a mix of land and water environments. They are adaptable creatures but thrive best when their habitat closely mimics their natural surroundings. Feeding: Rainbow Crabs are omnivorous scavengers with a diet that can include a variety of foods such as fish pellets, fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. Providing a balanced diet is key to maintaining their health and vibrant colors. Tank Mates: Choosing the right tank mates for Rainbow Crabs is crucial due to their semi-aggressive nature. Suitable companions include other semi-aquatic species that can coexist peacefully without invading the crab's land territory. Avoid small fish or invertebrates that could become prey. Aggression: Rainbow Crabs can show territorial behavior, especially towards members of their own species. It's recommended to provide ample space and hiding spots if housing multiple crabs to reduce potential conflicts. Experience Level: These crabs are best suited for intermediate to advanced aquarists who are familiar with the specific care requirements of semi-aquatic species. Understanding and replicating their natural habitat is key to their well-being. Water Parameters:

• Temperature: 75°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C)
• pH: 7.5 to 8.0
• Salinity: Slightly brackish water conditions are preferred, with a specific gravity of 1.005 to 1.010.
