Overview

The Red and White Wakin Goldfish is a striking, traditional goldfish variety known for its elongated body, flowing twin tail, and bold red-and-white coloration. Hardy and active, Wakins are excellent display fish for large aquariums or ponds and are valued for their graceful swimming and classic appearance.

Japan (selectively bred goldfish variety)

Feeding

• Omnivorous

• High-quality goldfish pellets or flakes

• Supplement with vegetables (peas, spinach, zucchini)

• Occasional treats such as bloodworms or brine shrimp

Tank Mates

• Best kept with other similar-sized goldfish (Wakin, Comet, Shubunkin)

• Avoid tropical fish or very slow fancy goldfish

• Not suitable with fin-nipping species

Peaceful
May outcompete slower fish for food due to active swimming
